I've not had much chance to update the blog with more stuff about the KIMM, but I've lost the track a bit on that anyway. The blog is supposed to help beginners rather than chart the rise and fall of me. So in order to catch up with what sort of thing happens at this time of year I'll skip a bit.The last couple of weeks the club has been running round a field. It's not even a hilly field, but it can be a suprisingly tough field. Various distance intervals have been set each week, so we can run 600m, then jog 300m or run 900m and walk 600m - that sort of thing. I guess you could call it interval training, but the my heart doesn't usually get enough time to relax between runs, so there are no intervals there!
Actually I'm finding it quite tough. Perhaps its a phase you can train out of, but I don't seem to 'warm up' for about 20 min. After that I can suddenly breathe and my legs become lighter. Everything works for about 2 laps, then I start getting tired! There is probably no cure for that...
There is more orienteering on Sunday, so another chance to balance speed and brain. Here I go again...
