New events

This blog may have been quiet lately and there may have been fewer hill races this month, but running never stops...

This month I've been out for a couple of moon lit runs and I'd recommend them to anyone who is short of time. It's simple - just do a normal hour or so circuit, in the hills, on or close to the night of the full moon. It takes a little longer as some peoples' head torches are a little dimmer than others and in Aberdeenshire at least, there has been a spot of snow on the ground. I've been up Bennachie, Morven and Clachnaben lately - all chilly, but good to get out on.

In fact, over the festive period it has been very difficult to get motivated to do very much during the day. There was an orienteering event on the 26th, but it was too hard to get up an go running on the 24th and 25th.

Something to look forward to are the events of next year...

Personally I'm looking forward to Night 'O' in January. Every Wednesday night in Deeside. I shall report back on how it goes.
Later in the year there are all sorts of things. One email told me of Ythan Challenge to be held near Ellon in the summer. Don't forget to remember when the entry deadlines are for these seemingly distant events. Ythan deadline is in March.
